Upon IVF completion 90% favor donation to ESCR
In the discussions among politicians, scientists and some religions’ leaders, a key aspect is often overlooked: it’s a "patients helping patients" situation, and as long as the embryonic stem cell research takes place by informed consent of the donors, there is absolutely no reason to prohibit government funding of the research.
"Among the couples who did not want to increase their family, 90% support the donation of embryos to stem cell research in a Catholic country, and, most importantly, almost no couple wants just to destroy the embryos," Menendez said.
